Wait node
The Wait node allows waiting for a delay before continuing the execution. It is used to implement retries with delay, respect rate limits or create pauses in the workflow.
Parameters
| Parameter | Type | Required | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Duration | Number (milliseconds) | ✅ | — | Wait duration in milliseconds before continuing the workflow. |
Duration
The duration is most often a fixed value entered directly: 5000, 120000. It can also be made variable with a Handlebars variable (e.g. {{context.retryDelayMs}}), but this is not the main usage.
Input
The node receives the wait duration in milliseconds, most often entered as a fixed value. A Handlebars variable can be used if the duration must be computed at runtime, but this is the exception.
Output
The Wait node produces no data: once the delay has elapsed, the execution continues with the context unchanged.
Example
Wait 5 seconds
Duration: 5000
Wait 2 minutes
Duration: 120000
Retry with delay
- HTTP(S) request
- Condition: Check the success
- If failure: Wait
5000ms - Retry
Combine the Wait node with a While node to implement a retry with delay: wait, then retry the operation.
