Introduction to resources

Resources are external entities — API, third-party service, configured integration, custom endpoint — that you configure once in Ecosystem and reuse in your workflows. Their configuration pre-fills the nodes that use them.

What is a resource?

A resource centralizes the configuration of an external system. Unlike parameters entered directly in each node, a resource:

  • is reusable across nodes and workflows;
  • is configured once: its settings (URL, keys, options) are not re-entered for each node;
  • pre-fills the fields of the nodes that reference it.

Lifecycle of a resource

  1. Creation: the resource is configured from the Resources module — see Create a resource.
  2. Usage: the resource is selected from the "Custom" tab of the node picker — see Use resources in workflows.
  3. Business scope: each resource is attached to an App (business scope) for readability and cartography — see Apps.
