Create a dictionary

This guide describes the creation of a dictionary and the addition of entries (key–value per environment).

📚 Reminder

A dictionary groups variables whose values can change according to the environment (API URL, business parameters, etc.).

Create the dictionary

  1. Menu Dictionaries
  2. Add
  3. Fill in the form:
FieldRequired?Description
NameYesIdentifies the dictionary in lists and {{dictionaries…}} references.
DescriptionNoUsage context; recommended for teams.
  1. Save to validate

Add entries

For each entry:

FieldRequired?Description
KeyYesName of the variable in the {{dictionaries…}} references (Key on screen).
ValueDepending on the caseValue to inject into workflows, defined per environment (Value on screen).
EnvironmentsDepending on the caseFor which environments the value applies.
  1. Open the created dictionary
  2. Add
  3. Fill in the fields then ↵ Enter or

Duplicate values to another environment

To copy the values from one environment to another (e.g. dev → staging):

  1. Open the dictionary
  2. next to the source environment name
  3. Duplicate the key and its values
  4. Choose the target environment
  5. The entries are duplicated; then adjust the values that should differ
💡 Time saver

Duplication speeds up the initial configuration; then adjust each environment (e.g. production URL).

Create a variable from a code node

When typing in a node (e.g. code):

  1. Enter the value or placeholder
  2. Right-click → Set as variable
  3. In the window: key, value, target dictionary, environments
  4. Confirm — the input is replaced by the {{dictionaries.dictionaryName.keyName}} reference

Use in workflows

Standard reference: {{dictionaries.dictionaryName.keyName}} — see Variable management.
