Deploy a trigger
This guide explains how to make a trigger operational in an environment, then how to verify, update or remove this deployment.
Before you begin
- The trigger is active.
- A workflow is associated with it.
- The target environment exists — see Environments.
- You have the permissions to deploy in this environment.
Deploy in an environment
- Open the trigger detail page.
- Deploy tab.
- Select the destination environment.
- Click Save.
The same trigger can be deployed in several environments (development, staging, production).
Update a deployment
- Open the Deployments tab of the trigger.
- Select the new workflow version.
- Click Save.
Remove a deployment
Removing a deployment stops the trigger in that environment: the associated workflows are no longer executed there.
- Open the Deployments tab of the trigger.
- Click Delete the deployment next to the deployment concerned.
- Confirm the action.
Verify a deployment
Deployment statuses
The Deployments tab shows the deployed environments, the workflow version, the deployment date and user. The status of each deployment can be:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Active | The trigger receives events or data and runs the associated workflow. |
| Deprecated | A new workflow version is available. |
| Undeployed | The deployment has been removed. |
Test the deployed trigger
| Trigger type | How to test |
|---|---|
| API route | Send an HTTP request to the public URL. |
| File | Drop a file in the monitored directory or send it by email. |
| Scheduler | Wait for the next scheduled execution. |
| Polling | Check the traces after the polling interval. |
| AWS SQS | Send a message in the queue. |
| Google Pub/Sub event | Publish a message on the topic. |
Then check that the workflow ran in Traces: go to Logs and filter by trigger or workflow.
If the trigger does not fire
Check in order:
- The trigger is Active and the deployment is Active.
- The environment and the authentication methods are correctly configured.
- The deployment rights are in place for the environment.
- The traces show the received event or the absence of execution.
Variables by environment
Triggers can use dictionary variables in their options to adapt their configuration to each environment, for example {{dictionaries.nomDuDico.cleDuDico}}. The values are replaced at deployment time — see Dictionaries.
