Manage triggers
This guide covers the everyday management of triggers: finding them, editing them, activating or deactivating them, deleting them, managing their tags and app, and importing or exporting them.
Before you begin
- Have access to the organization that contains the triggers.
- Consulting the list only requires the Viewer role; editing, deleting or importing requires higher rights — see Permissions — Workflows and triggers.
Find a trigger
- Click Triggers in the navigation menu.
- The list shows the triggers of the selected organization with:
- Name: identification of the trigger;
- Type: trigger family;
- Status:
ActiveorInactive; - Associated workflows: number of linked workflows;
- Updated: date of the last update.
Search by name, and filter by type, status, tags or app. Click a trigger to open its detail page.
View the details
The trigger detail page groups:
- Dashboard: general information, configuration and usage. If a workflow is associated, a direct link allows access in one click (and conversely from the workflow record).
- Update: modification of the name, description, type options, tags and app.
- Example: schema or example of the expected input data (mainly API route and Scheduler triggers).
- Deployments: deployment environments and status by environment — see Deploy a trigger.
Edit a trigger
- Open the trigger detail page, Update tab.
- Modify the name, description, type options, tags or app.
- Click Save.
Activate or deactivate a trigger
- On the detail page, Update tab.
- Turn on or turn off the switch according to the desired status.
- Click Save.
Deactivating a trigger stops its nominal usage on deployments: the associated workflows will no longer be triggered according to the configuration in place.
Delete a trigger
Deleting a trigger is permanent: it cannot be undone. It is only possible once the trigger has been removed from all environments and the associated workflows have been deleted or unlinked.
- Remove the trigger from all environments — see Deploy a trigger.
- Delete or unlink the associated workflows.
- On the detail page, click Delete then confirm.
Manage tags
Tags are free labels used to find a scope (team, customer, domain), filter the lists and harmonize classification between teams. They do not change the execution behavior of the workflow.
- Add: detail page → Update tab → Tags field → type a label then validate (often ↵ Enter) → Save.
- Remove: detail page → Update tab → × next to the tag → Save.
Attach an App
The App attaches triggers and workflows to a business scope and feeds the mapping. It is not required for the technical operation of the workflow.
- Detail page → Update tab.
- App field: select an existing app.
- Click Save.
For the concept and management of apps: Apps.
Import and export a trigger
- Export: downloads a JSON description of the trigger configuration (type, options…), useful to save it, version it, document it or recreate it elsewhere.
- Import: recreates or updates a trigger from an exported JSON file — practical for migrating between organizations or restoring a configuration.
Export
- Open the trigger detail page.
- Click then Export.
- A JSON file is downloaded.
Import
- Open the Triggers page.
- Click Import.
- Choose the JSON file.
- Check the displayed information, then Save.
Check the slugs (unique within the organization), the environments and the rights after an import or an export.
